Polkadotted Pumpkins?

You heard me right Frani {and all you other polkadot lovers}.  B Chic {Burlap class}is this Saturday and if you need something stinking cute to display for fall, sign up and join us!  :)  While the cute Jamie Andersen and I usually team teach this workshop, with her hubby fighting for our freedom, she's a bit busy with the daily duties of three little ones.

Here's the project.

We will make three little burlap pumpkins and embellish them up, or as Jenaye would say "junque" them up!  I learned this technique a few years ago in Arkansas during our annual girls trip.  While Keeping the structure the same, I changed up the coloring technique and added all the polka dots and embellishments.

And, I MUST admit.  I really hate taking them from my house to display at ETC this week.  Seeing them on my table reminds me of a few things: {1} Fall and cooler weather IS coming {2} The annual girls trip is almost here and I can hardly wait {3} When antiquing with a good friend one day I found this killer silver tray.  We were both eying it...but she let me buy it.  Now that's a TRUE friend...thanks Earleen!

Don't be a scare-dey cat!

Join me for my Do Me A Favor workshop tomorrow night at ETC.  We will be making 4 favors: 2 Halloween, 1 Christmas and 1 everyday general favor.  Here's a sneak peek at the Halloween ones.

 This is a squaty plastic container filled with Tootsie Rolls...one of my personal favorites when it comes to candy!  It's adorned with a few circle punched shapes and a picot trimmed ribbon.  A perfect size for gifting to folks at the office, visiting teachers or an entire classroom!

 This little brown paper sack is folded to create two pockets...one for a mini card and one for the good stuff {aka candy!}.  The printed paper is from the new Echo Park Halloween line that I aDore!  Stinkin cute gals {and guys...including you Dale!}.

Hopefully with fall and winter projects and products arriving at ETC we can count on some cooler weather!

Time to add a fresh coat of paint

to anything that is standing still in my home!  :)

I am looking to add some spunk to pieces of furniture that I have just purchased and others that I have had for Y E A R S!

I am loving all the colorful pieces of furnishings on Pinterest, so I guess I can blame them for my new additiction.  I stopped in one of my favorite thrift stores, Epic,  the other day and laid down $8 for this little gem.  I just loved the shape and honestly, I love anything made from REAL wood.

After a few coats of paint and wax and some new fabric from ETC, I transformed that plain chair into a fun little chair that will become my inspiration for a room makeover.

Yea, with Preston and Ashley's recent wedding, I am pretty certain he won't ever be coming "home" to our house to live.  I talked myself into changing up the room that the "not so little guy now" grew up in.  I have some BIG plans to add some repurposed items to give it a whole new look.  And I am gonna start by hanging some old wood windows I picked up recently.  These windows came out of an old school here in the Valley.  Hopefully it will turn out as good as I invision it!  I will be sure to keep you posted.  :)

Busy, Busy!

Funny how life can take off and leave you wondering where the last several weeks or months went.  With Preston and Ashley's wedding behind us...life is reaching a slower pace {at the moment}.  The wedding was amaZing and we were reminded how many friends we have and how much they contribute to our lives.

Wanted to share a peek at one of the beautiful projects created for the wedding.

Sweet Jenaye made this belt for Ashley.  Ashley provided the inspiration and many of the sentimental embellishments to make this a unique and meaningful piece.  Ashley even had a blue shirt that belonged to her dad that she tied in to the piece.  She had Naye cut a heart out of the shirt and sew it onto the belt along the side of the dress.  Of course, it looked amaZing on Ashley.  She was incredibly beautiful. 

My boss gave me a super cute shirt the last day I worked before heading to Sedona...a "mother of the groom" Tshirt.  I wore it on Friday and just HAD to have a picture taken with Preston.

While I hate having my photo taken...I knew that this time was certainly worth capturing.  :)  And I actually think my hair stylist, Miss Hillary, would claim me as a client!

It's back to reality.  Jamie and I have a class on Tuesday nite at ETC...B Chic.  It's our burlap class, which we absolutely love!  We wanted to share a sneak peek of the project.

While my photography lacks...the project doesn't.  It's a wood base, approximately 9X11 inches.  It would be a great wedding gift or a project for your home.  If you haven't already signed up to join us, there are a few spots left.  We'll paint the wood, paint the heart onto a burlap panel, embellish with lace, a felt flower, a Bazzill vintage button, some ruffled trim and a preglittered key.  A little hand stitched "established" tag adorns the project.  It's a great project that is easily completed during the class, with no homework required.  Hope to see you locals there.

Scrap Happy

Final preparations are under way for my Scrap Happy workshop at ETC this Saturday afternoon.  Looking for a good excuse to get outta the heat {and scrap}?  Well, this is it!

Here's two of the layouts that we will be creating on Saturday.

 We will create a little multiple pocket embellishment and fill it with lots of little tags. 

We will glimmer mist a manilla tag and over-embellish {aka "junk it up" according to Jenaye!}a doiley.

Four layouts total will be completed in class, using the latest products, newest printed paper and good ole unbeatable Bazzill cardstock.  There are still four class slots available, so if you are wanting to join us call ETC at 854-2303 and get registered.

Happy 4th of July!

Hopefully your day will be filled with friends, family, great food, fun, fireworks and a grateful heart that we live in the land of the free thanks to all the brave men and women who defend our nation and the people.

I have lots to do these next few weeks, and I am staying on top of it but doing something each day.  It's a whole lot less stressful that way!  In addition to wedding projects I am also creating one last graduation announcement for a good friend of Jenaye's.  He was a very cooperative subject and I had fun spending a little time with him to capture a look that was "him".  We had a great time taking photos a few weeks ago that could be included in the announcement, so now it's just a matter of coming up with a design that he likes.

I am also busy kitting for my Tag Studio Workshop at ETC that's a week from Friday.  I love day classes during the week.  We will embellish tags using glimmer mists, color mists, lace, wooden pieces, teeny paper flowers, rhinestone bling, washi tape, rubber stamps, and what-not.  Misting tags with color will give each tag a unique look.  These tags can be added to scrapbook layouts, cards, or used as gift tags or displayed in a frame or on a canvas board.  A BIG thanks to everyone who has already signed up...and if you are local and looking for something to do {that's out of the heat}on Friday the13th, between 10:30 to 12:30, come join us!

Ready for Tuesday...

so bring it on!  With Monday almost behind me, I am ready for Tuesday.  Everything was kitted over a week ago and I finished my handout today for my Do Me A Favor workshop tomorrow night.

All the supplies are kitted in a large brown paper sack adorned with a little prize ribbon created with a new striped summer ribbon from ETC and some customized printwork that I created and printed on Bazzill cardstock.  The bag is sealed shut with a wooden clothespin.

Just got back from our walk a little bit ago and boy is it ever hot out there!  As much as I continue to deny it...summer is here!  It's also the time of year I start looking for yummy {and healthy} recipes that can be prepared without a heat source...that is unless it's the BBQ.
